The
Richest Man in The World
Once
upon a time, there was a man.
And
this man came upon some money.
With
this money, the man earned more money.
This
man was wise and grew his money greatly.
This
man was so wise; that soon he had more money than anyone did in the whole
world.
This
man became so rich, the richest man ever to live.
There
was nothing he could not own.
He
didn’t buy an island.
He
bought a kingdom.
And his
kingdom was the greatest in the world.
He
didn’t have a few people protecting him.
He had
an army, a most powerful army!
He
didn’t buy a baseball or football team.
He
bought the whole leagues, all the teams.
There
was nothing under the sun he could not or did not have.
He was
a very generous man.
No one
in his kingdom ever went hungry.
He made
sure that there was food for all.
Everyone in his kingdom had a home to live in.
Everyone in his kingdom loved him for being so good and kind.
There
was no other kingdom like it in the world.
He gave
much money to doctors and hospitals.
He
wanted to find cures for all manners of sickness.
He
wanted no one to be sick.
He gave
much money to the teachers and schools.
He
wanted all his subjects to be smart and educated.
He
wanted everyone to learn good things.
He
owned several huge mansions.
There
was a swimming pool at each end.
There
was even a swimming pool in his house.
He had
a movie theater in his house.
He had
a bowling alley in his house.
He had
a basketball court inside his house.
He
owned hundreds of cars.
He
owned his own planes.
He
owned his own ships to sail the seas.
He even
owned his own submarine!
The
most precious of all gems he did own.
Diamonds rubies, emeralds and sapphires.
He
owned gold and silver.
His
banks were over flowing with his wealth.
His
wealth and kingdom grew.
He was
very happy how things were going.
All his
subjects were happy.
Until
one day.
On that
day, the rich man heard a sad story.
It was
a story about a young child.
This
child lived in a very poor country.
Everyone there was poor.
This
young child was dying.
There
was nothing anyone could do for him.
The
doctors said he needed a new heart.
His
parents offered, but it would not work.
The
child was a very special and rare patient.
The
hearts of his parents would not work.
In
fact, there was only one heart in the whole world that would work.
And
this heart belonged to the rich man.
When
the rich man heard these things.
He
immediately flew to the child’s country.
He went
to the hospital to see the young child.
He sat
there and looked upon the child with much pity.
He told
the doctors that he would give his heart to the child.
The
doctors didn’t believe it.
For
they knew who this man was.
And why
should this great man give up everything for this young child.
After
all, this man had the most riches in the entire world!
The
rich man already made up his mind.
He told
the doctors to make the preparations.
The
doctors did as they were told.
They
performed the operation.
The
rich man died.
The
young child was healed and received life.
The
news went out throughout the world.
No one
could believe what he or she had heard.
They
could not understand the decision the rich man made.
All
they knew was that through his death, the young child lived.
And
there is another story here, far greater.
Now you
may understand.
That
Jesus left his throne and riches in heaven.
To come
to earth.
To die
for us.
That
all who believe on Him, will have everlasting life.
